Host David opens with a Malcolm X quote to examine how white liberal and conservative factions shape politics, arguing New York City’s newly elected mayor may be a product of the political machine rather than a true representative of marginalized communities.
The episode critiques identity politics, questions why some voters celebrate a mayor who may not serve their interests, and urges listeners to think independently about real change for Black, Latino, immigrant, and working-class New Yorkers.

Host David breaks down the New York City mayoral race one week before Election Day, examining top candidates —  Zhoran Mandani, Andrew Cuomo, and Curtis Sliwa — and how political machines, money, and name recognition shape outcomes.
He discusses affordability, crime, immigration, and the struggles of everyday New Yorkers, criticizing party machines and arguing for genuine representation. David also teases a potential 2029 mayoral run of his own and urges listeners to vote and stay informed.

Host D.C. explores the Puerto Rican boogeyman—El Cuco (also called Cucu/Cucuoy)—and how this folklore was used by parents to scare kids into good behavior. He shares personal memories of growing up, the story’s Spanish and indigenous roots, and how the legend changed after families moved to the United States.
The episode connects these childhood warnings to broader cultural practices, pop-culture references (like The X-Files and The Village), and how Halloween amplifies monster tales. D.C. reflects on how folklore adapts across places and generations.
A short, conversational dive into fear, parenting, and cultural storytelling—mixing humor, nostalgia, and observation.
